The Himalayan Pastoral Trust is a non-governmental organization and pastoral collective dedicated to supporting nomadic and livestock-dependent communities across the Himalayas.
Rooted in the belief that pastoralists are vital stewards of mountain landscapes, HPT brings together researchers, educators, conservation practitioners, community leaders, and pastoralists themselves to create innovative, practical solutions for a sustainable future.
By combining scientific research with traditional ecological knowledge, we work to strengthen pastoral livelihoods, restore and conserve rangelands, promote education, enhance climate resilience, and safeguard the cultural and ecological heritage of pastoral societies. Through community-led action, innovation, and collaboration, HPT strives to build a future where both nature and pastoral communities thrive together.
